A few days ago a shocking announcement has been made by Imperial officials who claim that Emperor Lavey has decided to retire from government affairs for an indeterminate period of time, leaving Darth Mortis to reign as Imperial Regent. Some reporters claimed that this is a well-planned coup d’etat carried out by the Inquisition, however most of them met their unfortunate ends in a series of mysterious accidents…
Meanwhile Lord Mortis does not waste a moment of his time and already issued several important edicts. For instance he decreed that 70% of all the shipyards are to return to producing civilian spacecraft at the same time making sure new contracts are concluded between the Imperial giants of industry and the most prominent galactic corporations. Also Sith Empire has signed trading agreements with the Chiss Ascendancy, Hapes Consortium and the Hutts, establishing embassies on Csilla, Hapes and Nal Hutta respectively.
However some of the Regent’s decisions were evaluated as questionable by the leading political observers. For instance, the recent tax rise has been met with mild discontent by the populace, though the government promised that this measure is only temporal. It is also speculated as to why the Regent refuses to reduce the number of the troops conscripted even though the peace treaty was signed between the Sith, Jedi and the Shadow Knights. Some experts believe that we should expect another major conflict soon. But whatever the Regent’s reasons are, all Imperial troops have either withdrawn back to Sith territory or serve as peacekeepers under the League of Systems banner.
At the moment HNN teams are on Malastare, trying to get an exclusive interview with the Regent himself or at least one of the higher ranking officials. Stay tuned for updates.
